QYD Quest — January 21, 2022

We're so excited to welcome Stowe to the list of certified QYD Communities™!

The committee's efforts were approved by the QCC last night, after the group submitted documentation of their seventh benchmark — #6, "The engagement of youth as members of the Board of Directors of local non-profits providing services to youth." Next stop? Celebration mode! Word is already getting out to the press, as well as state and local officials.

Stowe's all-youth Steering Committee has worked incredibly hard since they started out last year, documenting benchmarks with great momentum. But this is far from the end for the committee — the high school senior co-chairs are scouting new recruits to carry on the work in Stowe once they graduate. The group is also making progress on a monumental task — creating a welcoming, inclusive space for youth in Stowe to go after school!
