Shelburne, VT has officially knocked one benchmark out of the park! Our QYD Bits intern asked youth in her community what businesses they feel most comfortable and welcome in. The top answers were awarded with a "Youth are Welcome!" sign to display in their shop windows! With benchmark #5 documented, we're so excited to see what's next for Shelburne.
Meanwhile, the applications are in and the youth of Brattleboro, VT are preparing to vote on their first ever slate of candidates for a community-wide youth council! You'll remember from past QYD Quest blogs that the group was putting together a design team to plan all the logistics of having a youth council. Now, it's time to put that plan into action! The project's roots are continuing to take hold outside of Vermont as well, with murmurings of activity soon to come in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and continued effort in Virginia.
